Possible Cause
Diagnosis Procedure
  1. Turn the key to the off position
  2. Connect a DMM to the battery
  3. Turn on headlights on for 3 minutes to remove the surface charge
  4. Compare your readings at 70°F to the chart below:
    1. 12.6 – 100% → Replace Powertrain Control Module
    2. 12.4 – 75% → Charge the battery and retest, and test the charging system.
    3. 12.0 – 25% → Charge or replace the battery, and test the charging system.
    4. 11.8 – 0% → Replace the battery, and test the charging system.
